Filing A Claim Is As Simple As…
Question:
How do I file a claim with my Volunteer Card travel insurance? What is the claims process like?
Answer:
In the event that you need to a file a travel or medical claim, we are going to walk you through the entire process. Remember, we’re here to make volunteer travel easier and safer! We’ll be with you from the beginning to the end.
To get started, there are two different routes that you can take:
1. Email. The easiest way to open a claim is to send us an email with your travel information. Once we receive your email, you can expect a response from our Customer Care Team within 1 business day. We will prepare your claim documents and send them to you via email. We will also give you instructions on how to complete the claim documents and how to submit them to the travel insurance underwriter.
2. Phone. You can call the Volunteer Card office and speak to someone on our Customer Care Team about your claim. We will ask you a few questions about your trip, so please have your basic travel information on hand. We will prepare your claim documents and send them to you via email (or fax or snail mail if you like to go old school!). We will also give you instructions on how to complete the claim documents and how to submit them to the travel insurance underwriter.
After your claim has been filed and submitted, the travel insurance underwriter will review your case. It will take about 3 – 4 weeks for the review to take place. Once the travel insurance underwriter has determined the outcome of your claim, you’ll receive notification via US mail. During the review process, we will be monitoring the progress of your claim.
Important: If you need emergency assistance while traveling, you can call 1-800-555-9095 within USA & Canada or 001-603-894-4710 while outside the USA & Canada for 24-hour emergency assistance. For more information on medical emergencies, please refer to our resource page.
If you have questions about the status of your claim, we encourage you to send us an email or give us a call. It is our goal to make sure you are informed about what is happening.
