At a Glance: Gratitude Week 2012
Thank you for letting us thank you!
We received numerous amazing responses throughout Gratitude Week and enjoyed every one. Here are the winning submissions from each day:
Day 1 – What is something that you are thankful for?
“I am thankful for my partner in life because he supports me in all that I do and encourages me to teach my sweet children, by example, how to be a giver and volunteer. I am thankful to have the opportunity to have children to teach and to pass along my love for community and service.” — Sheena R.
Day 2 – What is one way that someone has given back to you in the past year?
“About 9 months ago, my school (Northeastern University) awarded me with easily the most influential gift I’ve ever received- a scholarship towards travelling to South Africa in order to volunteer at public hospitals. It changed my life and many others, all because somebody somewhere had faith that I would do great things with the money rewarded to me.” — Amanda M.
Day 3 – What is your favorite picture of you volunteering/giving back?
— Andrew M.
Day 4 – What is the craziest thing to happen while you were volunteering?
“While volunteering in Nairobi, Kenya we had an afternoon off to go visit a baby elephant rescue center. Â The baby elephants were so cute and ran around chasing bouncy balls and each other and it was a lot of fun to see.” — Carissa J.
Day 5 – What is one way you plan to give back this holiday season?
“Volunteering with Project Homeless Connect, a day-long free resource fair.” — Wahida O.
Thank you to everyone who participated and we can’t wait until Gratitude Week 2013!
