Who qualifies as a volunteer?
Anyone who is volunteering for a volunteer organization or non-profit organization qualifies. Also, if you are an Intern, full-time or part-time employee of a volunteer organization or non-profit you qualify.

Are these discounts just for volunteer related activities?
No. You can use these discounts for any purpose for the entire year of your membership simply for being a volunteer.

How do you verify that someone is a legitimate volunteer?
Through a unique partnership with two non-profit watch dog associations, GuideStar and CharityNavigator, we are able to prove the legitimacy of the organization that you are volunteering for. How do I show proof that I am volunteering with an organization?
After purchasing the card, you will receive an e-mail explaining how to submit your proof of affiliaition. Once we receive your documentation, you will gain access to all discounts and travel insurance benefits, and your card will come in the mail shortly.

What if I am having problems finding proof from my volunteer / non profit organization?
Generally if you contact your organization first, they can send an e-mail or letter, with their logo or letterhead and that is sufficient. If you are having problems, please contact us.

How do I gain access to the discounts?
After purchasing the card, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to help us verify your volunteer status. Once we confirm your affiliation, you will receive your memeber number via email. You will use this number to sign in/register online and gain access to a variety of discounts.

Is the 24/7 assistance free of phone charges?
Yes. You can either call the toll free number, or the collect number and you will never have to pay a charge.

How do I gain access to my Travel Insurance?
By calling the toll free or collect call numbers printed on your card and giving the operator your Insurance Code printed on the front of your card. You will we be walked through the process personally and professionally.

What if I lose my card?
You can get a replacement card for $5 plus $2 shipping and handling by contacting us at: support@volunteercard.com. However, you are not required to replace your card. You may still use your number for the remainder of your membership.

Who underwrites your Travel Insurance?
We work with Travel Guard, one of the largest travel insurance providers in the world. They insure over 1 million travelers per year and are backed by over $12 billion. They also have the highest solvency and liquidity in the nation, an even greater comfort and security in tremulous financial times.

Do you offer a refund or guarantee?
If you are not satisfied with the 24/7 assistance, discounts and level of insurance coverage you can contact us regarding a refund for your card.

What about the fine print?
Yes, we do have terms and conditions as well as a privacy policy. However, we don’t hide anything in the fine print.

You don’t share our information with anyone else do you?
No way! We would never sell your information, or give it to spammers or solicitors. We do give your information to our insurance provider - but they will never contact you unless it is regarding your policy.
